JEWELRY CARE
Protect your jewelry!
Protecting your jewelry from harsh chemicals, perfumes, locations, hair spray, swimming and sweat from exercising is most important to keep your jewelry looking new for years to come! People always ask "Can I get my jewelry wet, or can I go swimming in my jewelry?" Well the simple answer is YES, however, over time or excessive use of any type of jewelry being exposed to chemicals of any kind, sweat, water, soaps, etc., will eventually decrease the lustier and shine of Pearls and Gemstones and most any metal materials used to make jewelry, yes this includes .925 Sterling Silver and 14K & 18K Solid Gold.
It is extremely important to NOT use jewelry cleaners or polishing cloths of any kind on pearls, gemstones and any metal that is plated as well as "14K or 18K gold filled" jewelry. Solid Gold and .925 Sterling Silver can be dipped in jewelry cleaners and you can use a polishing cloth on these metals to bring back luster and shine. Again, although I hear it all the time from people who say "I never take my jewelry off and it is fine" . . . while that may be true, most jewelry metals including .925 Sterling Silver and Solid Gold can eventually be damaged by excessive use being exposed to harsh chemicals, perfumes, locations, hair spray, swimming and sweat from exercising. When in doubt take it off! Your jewelry will thank you for it :)
Since we offer different types of metals we will always include with your purchase a Jewelry Care Guide for your specific piece so you will know how to keep it clean and safe from harm to last you for years to come. The majority of metals, pearls and gemstones only need to be lightly cleaned with a soft damp cloth to remove any debris, locations, sweat or chemicals they may have come in contact with.
